For some reason I find old abandoned buildings interesting to photograph. I think it's the tragic story they all share; once they're no longer useful they're just left to rot. This old barn has been on my grandmother's property for as long as I can remember. It has weathered many a storm and, unlike the other barn that shared the property, is still standing as if it weren't ready to surrender. I like this shot because the melancholy mood of the barn is enhanced by the dismal sky and fallen trees which seem to entomb it.
